Legislative Update: Here We Go Again ...
At this point in the session, support from our members and fellow staff is what keeps our chins up at the capital ... what a week for us and the public lands!
YVC: Inching Toward the Finish Line
Until the next legislative session convenes, ICL will identify issues, develop new ideas and connect with decision makers to advance conservation in 2019. After all, it's only 291 days away!
YVC: The Other Shoe Dropped
We had a good run: the science standards were finally approved, the roadless commission bill sailed through, and the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act resolution was adopted without debate. So it was only a matter of time before the other shoe dropped. This week it did.
YVC: Heading for the Door
As the Legislature moves toward adjournment, there is a palpable sense of haste at the Statehouse. Legislators are ready to conclude their business, pass agency budgets and return to their districts to campaign. While a few issues are still outstanding, we are definitely nearing the tail end of the session.
YVC: Bullies, Backflow and Building Codes
We're moving closer to adjournment. Given some of the threats to our air and water, it can't come soon enough!
